A new parking structure for the City of Florence was constructed to replace an aging, approximately 40-years old parking garage located in its downtown district. LED designed a five-story parking garage capable of parking 273 automobiles one block from the existing parking garage. The parking structure was built using precast structural concrete. This allowed for thin brick, cast stone, and inlay elements to be designed into the two street facades to reflect the historic architecture of Downtown Florence. The two stair towers stand apart from the more traditional design of the parking garage with a wrap of perforated metal panels for exterior cladding, aluminum composite materials being used at the soffits, and a single sloped roof.
